Catherine –
I love the look and I love the arch support and comfort of this cool boot. Snazzy??
Barbara –
I ordered a 7.5 and an 8 in this boot. 7.5 is my usual size and it fit perfectly right out of the box. I was hoping the insert would come out of the boot easily so I could use my own inserts but it turns out there is enough arch support built into the boot to keep me happy all day. I ordered the dark brown and it is lush color, the leather soft and flexible. The sole is rubber and I think it will provide more than adequate traction in the snowy months ahead. This is the first real mid-calf boot I’ve seen in a long time (shaft is over 8 inches) so I snapped it up quickly. I had ordered the Sorel Cate Lace boot just a few days ago. It is also a really good looking boot but I will now return it opting instead for the Sofft Sharnell Low because of the higher shaft and because I feel the 2+” heel on the Sorel is probably more than I can deal with on a regular basis.

I actually went up a half size from my normal 8.5 because I have custom orthotics for my very flat feet. The orthotics fit right on top of the glued in insole, and is still comfortable. Bought the grey suede, which is very soft and the mid-shaft height is perfect to tuck skinny jeans into, while the laces in the back do tighten a bit, but not much. It has not rained here in California, so can’t speak to its waterproof ability. A definite winner!

Spendy, but worth it. I was looking for a low-heeled bootie that was comfortable and stylish. The leather is soft and pliable, so no having to break them in. True to size and width. I did supplement with arch support as I do with most boots and shoes. They look great with leggings, skirts and tights, skinny jeans. Very versatile.

So comfortable, no break in period needed. Have worn them several times and received compliments each time. These are the elusive comfortable and cute boot

These weren’t the quality leather that Sofft used to produce. The shine showing in the picture is one way to tell the poor quality. Also, these were smaller than sized. I returned and won’t look to Sofft for boots again. Hopefully, their shoes aren’t fallen to the way side:-/

Lovely looking boots with buttery soft leather but WAAAY too tight across my feet. I don’t have particularly wide feet, average at best. The tightness is not only across my foot but also top to bottom. I ordered these in a 9 which is a half size larger than what I normally wear in shoes. Even with the half size up, these are not wearable for me due to the tightness. The styling of the boot is great, looks very nice with leggings or skinny jeans and the back lacing can be adjusted to fit your calf. Sadly I am returning these.

Out of the box comfort!! I usually wear an 8.5-9.0. After reading the reviews, I decided on trying a 9.0. They fit perfectly and I have enough room for a heavier sock which I’ll need in the northern Minnesota winters. The adjustable lace back is great for my wider calf. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!

I love the boots, but the zippers are constantly coming unzipped throughout the day

These boots were super comfortable right out of the box. I was able to walk two miles in them the first day I wore them. The sizing is generous enough to wear with thicker socks. The adjustable top allows them to be worn over any style jeans. I ordered a second pair in a different color.

I love this boot! Super cute, comfortable, fits true to size, waterproof, and love that I don’t have to mess with the bottom of my jeans to keep them tucked in or turned up. Wore them an entire 10 hrs right out of the box with absolutely no issues. Will be ordering them in the black also.
Amy –
Love them! Perfect fit, and so comfortable!
LS –
Reviewers who said these are comfy right out of the box weren’t kidding. They may be a little wider than expected, but that will allow plenty of room for thick socks. And they couldn’t have come at a better time – I was wearing a pair of Frye boots today that might quite possibly be the most uncomfortable footwear I’ve had the misfortune of owning. Ever. So YAY! These feel and look great. Nice leather quality, and the inner lining is a soft suede-like material. Really pleased.
Jenn –
I am extremely picky and i LOVE these boots! Super comfortable and chic. Wore them constantly all last fall and winter.
Roberta –
These boots are gorgeous!! The leather is so nice and is soft. the fit is perfect (I wear a 6.5), and they are very comfortable. I will wear them with leggings and dresses alike. I’m so glad I spent the money on these boots because there is nothing like real leather. I’m sure I will have them for years!!!!
Jean –
Well made, very comfortable boot. Have always loved the quality of Sofft shoes.
Roberta –
I love these boots. I know they are a little expensive but for real leather it is sooooo worth it. These boots are comfortable and very stylish, very comfortable and true to size. I am a 6.5 and these are a true 6.5. My left foot is a little larger than my right so there’s a little spot that I think wearing a thin sock will take care of. All around great purchase that I will love for years to come.
Sharon –
Comfortable and cute—wore these right out of the box on a 3-mile walk. Color is perfect for all of the cream colored fall clothes I’ve been buying!
Jacquie –
I normally wear a 5.5 in most brands, but since they do not carry that size, I went with the 6. They fit fine. Not too big as I wear socks with them. I ordered the Barley Suede Tan, and I cannot say enough about how beautiful these boots are! That being said, I have one complaint. They are waterproof boots, but if I am paying $200 for a pair of boots, I expect them to be stain resistant as well. I am normally careful when it comes to spilling things on any of my shoes, but the first time I wore these, while eating at a restaurant, the waiter dropped an olive which landed right on the top of the boot. It immediately left a stain. I tried soaking it up with baking soda, but I am left with no choice but to take them to a shoe repair place to have them dyed. My advice is if you buy these, put your own stain protection on them because waterproofing means absolutely nothing.

I sometimes wear 7.5, sometimes 8. Ordered up and the 8 is a perfect fit. So comfortable and stylish!
Lexie –
Boots are comfortable but still need to be broken in. They gave me a blister in the pinkies and on the right boot it gave me a blister on the ankle bone. It has a piece of the boot that presses against the skin causing discomfort. Also they immediately got a line in the front where I bend the foot. Boots are true to size and snuggled.
Patricia –
I have some three year old Sofft boots in black leather that are still in great condition although I did get them resoled. I love them because they’ve held up well and are more comfortable than any other boots I’ve tried, due to their softer insole. I wanted another pair of Sofft boots. I tried the Sharnell Low Waterproof in size 9.5 and size 10, and in Cognac Snake, Black Wild Steer, Taupe and Brown. Due to my wide feet I’ll usually wear a 9.5 in shoes that don’t come in wide. So, with these, the 9.5 was a tiny bit tight across the width of my foot so I tried the size 10. It’s comfortable although longer that I needed but that doesn’t matter when I wear them. As far as colors, I kept the Brown and sent the other colors back. I found the taupe a bit to dusty looking and rustic for me, the cognac a warm, pretty print but not something that goes with my cool color palette, the black wasn’t available in a 10 and the brown was perfect. The brown has a touch of grey to it instead of a warm brown. I’ve added photos of the brown in size 10 that I kept. I’ve worn them four days and am happy with them. FYI, the laces in the back are real so you can make them tighter or looser to fit your calves. They could let in wet or snow if you get in that situation.

These were comfortable right out of the box. I like the back lacing — gives it a bit of an edge. Sofft shoes live up to their name!

Comfortable right out of the box! I love the height — looks great with jeans tucked int or tights and a skirt. The lacing in the back sets them apart from plain black boots — subtle sexyand edgy.
Mary –
These are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. They’re beautiful, well made, padded at the heel, arch and ball of the foot and somewhat adjustable with the ties in the back. They’re roomy enough for a thicker sock, but comfortable with thinner socks. Pricey, but worth it.
