I cannot say enough about these boots! I put them on for the first time and adjusted the laces and they are PERFECT. The leather feels fantastic to the touch, and is very high quality. I cannot however, attest to their comfort. I have yet to wear them outside of the house. Ideally I’d put my insoles in them, but I can tell there won’t be room.
I love that these are so adjustable. I need a wide calf boot normally, but they usually make the ankle wider too which look dumpy on my legs. These are great because the ankle fit as is, did not need loosened, but I was able to use the laces to adjust them perfectly to my calf. I cannot wait to wear them this weekend!

I just got these and I love them! Put them on as soon as they got here and have been walking around for a few hours with no issues. They are super comfy. Because I had an accident years ago and have atrophy, one of my calves is 13″ and one is 14″5 so I haven’t been able to wear knee high boots without a noticeable bagginess on one leg. These boots adjust beautifully and look perfect. So glad I got them!

PIs Gorgeous boot but…
Let me start by saying that overall I absolutely LOVE this boot! The leather is of premium quality. Ultra rich color, flexible when walking and comfortable enough for zme to wear for my 12 hour work shift as a driver. I have a 17″ calf and the adjustable lacing in the back made for a perfect fit. Now the downside… I’ve only had these boots for one week and
the skin covering on the heel is cracking and peeling. Far too expensive boot for this flimsy heel. It literally peels as if it was a sticker. I contacted Zappos and they immediately sent me another pair. Hopefully these will work out because I truly love them. Maybe it’s just defective material.

Very comfortable. Very sturdy for rainy streets. I’m not crazy about the lace-up because the laces don’t lay flat and show through my jeans. But, they are excellent for skirts and wide-leg pants.

These are by far my most comfortable shoes. I’m on my feet all day and they still feel great at the end of the day. I can’t wait to get more shoes from Sofft. The lace-up means they fit perfectly on my calves. I’ve had them almost a year and they still look great. I get compliments every time I wear them. Only complaint is that they come untied frequently and it’s awkward to tie on the back of my leg.

The leather looks expensive. Supple and no breaking in period. Overall I loved these boots for their style. I have 17 1/2″ muscular calves so the laces in the back of the boot were perfect. The problem lies with the heel. The description clearly states that it is a WOOD block heel. Not so. It’s constructed out of rubber with a adhesive backing wood grain “look” sticker that covers the entire heel! It cracked and peeled badly after ONE week of wear so I contacted Zappos. I returned the defective pair and received a identical pair (I was praying that these worked because I REALLY love these boots and sincerely wanted them to work. But sadly to my dismay the new pair did the same after my second week of wear also so they are going back.

This is a comfortable, beautiful yet casual boot, but I have to return it because it’s too tall; the boot cuts off just below my knee, not an attractive look. I bought it in Pavement, a beautiful dark grey-brown.

These boots are great! I am 5’1 and don’t think I have super small calves, but I’m petite so I guess they are smaller than average. Because of this I have SO MUCH TROUBLE finding boots that fit and don’t leave a crazy amount of room in the calves. These boots are genius. They fit great, and are stylish. I hope more shoe companies find easy ways to make boots more customizable.

This a nice boot…fits well and is a very attractive casual boot. I have a narrow foot but I wear heavy socks with them and that takes care of the excess room. They are soft and comfortable to walk in. I have very skinny legs and I got these boots because of the laces in the back. I am able to tighten the laces enough so that they actually fit my legs..over jeans…a real positive! The leather is soft and nice. I think this was a good purchase. I haven’t had any trouble with the heel, but I haven’t had them very long. I would recommend this boot, especially if you have thin legs.

Love these boots. The color is amazing. I bought 3 pairs of last years model and wear them all the time. I haven’t worn these yet but I will say having read the other reviews I checked out the heel and it is definitely different from last years. That’s really the only difference. It seams cheaper than the previous heel and I’m hoping it doesn’t peel for me as it did for others. Also last years style was too wide for me even with the adjustable lace. I took it upon myself to find a way to make them fit my skinny calf’s. See photos. It was pretty easy I just needed to buy some braided leather cord so it would be strong enough to hold (it also looks better than the cotton lace, in my opinion)

These fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I could wear them with up to medium weight socks, so good for cold days. The sole is a nice non-slip sole, so I would feel comfortable in wet weather, as well. The leather is very nice, workmanship is quality, and the lining is a plus!
The adjustable shank is genius! I have ultra skinny legs, and can never find boots that fit my calves. I mean NEVER! But these adjust perfectly, and look good doing it! Adjust once and forget it, just zip ’em up after that. The only down side is I am not quite sure about the lace-up-the-back look…that’s why I gave them 4 stars for style. I’m waiting on my daughters to give me the final thumbs up/down. 😉 But so far I am leaning towards thumbs up. Oh, and they don’t make my feet look like boats, like the Frye boots did.

These are SO comfortable! And they fit perfectly. My calves are thin and I was able to adjust the laces so I have a perfectly snug fit. When I wear them with jeans tucked in, I can easily expand them to the proper size. The leather is very soft and the dark brown is a beautiful color.

Love the color Aztec Brown, took pictures in front of the window at work so they are in natural light to give the closest to actual color. Love the burnishing and working on adjusting to my perfect fit as I’m used to a looser vs fitted fit and lucky for me the laces adjust.

I love these boots. The leather is such high quality, they smell amazing, and look absolutely gorgeous. The calf seems a little snug, even though they are completely customization up to widths of 16.5”. When they are fully extended for a wider calf in the back the laces are a little short and it is challenging to tie, and the laced area looks very wide in the back which I don’t love. I have a wide athletic calf, which is 15.5” and these boots are quite snug, I cannot imagine them stretching another inch.

These are a big hit for a reason. The lacing in the back allows you to tighten and loosen as needed – which means that they can accommodate all kinds of shapes and sizes. The support is great and I rarely find my feet aching even after a long day of actively walking. The color is really nice and rich and the fabric inside lining is actually really nice.
My only criticism is the “leather stacked block heel” is rubber and has the leather glued over top. This hasn’t been an issue for me thus far, but I can totally see the complaints about how it comes unglued happening.
Are they worth $200? Probably not, you can kind of tell that there were shortcuts in their making – but women’s leather shoes are over-priced in general and even moderately quality construction can be difficult to find, so I decided that compromises would be made and I’m glad I got these.

These are great boots overall: very comfortable, big enough to wear thick socks, and nice quality leather. Unfortunately I ran into at least two pairs with the same bad heel design and glue problem as other reviewers. I got a Biscuit pair that within two wears had the little strip of leather they glued to the rubber heel splitting and peeling off. I returned those and got another pair, which has held up for a half dozen wears so far. But I also got a pair in Whiskey, and now those too are splitting and falling apart at the heel. This is nothing structural, but for such a good quality boot, it is sad and makes them look cheap. So now I will have to return those and see if I can get another pair that does not have this problem. Fingers crossed…

I looked for grey (ish) tall boots all season! I had ordered and returned several pairs and this was my last ditch effort. Success! These boots are beautiful in the Pavement. It is not a true grey but has several shades along the seams. I struggle to find boots that fit my calves (16″) so the lace up feature is perfect for me. This boot was perfectly comfortable right out of the box. I have worn them almost everyday since getting them.

Beautiful boots! I am in love with the color—they are (for my wardrobe), the perfect medium brown. Not too red, and just enough dark to be dressy. The fit felt a bit bigger than my normal size; I ordered a 6-1/2 at first and decided to exchange for a 6. The 6 fit much better, and after a couple wears, they’ve stretched a bit so I’m very glad I went down a half size. I will still be able to wear a lightweight sock with the room I have.
The laces in the back allow some wiggle room. One thing that you’ll want to know is that the laces do come undone as you walk, so I had tie them with like my hiking boots and then double knot. Even then, I had to tighten them. Other than that, I love the laces.
The leather is very soft, feels like good quality, and smells like a leather shop, which I love!
Highly recommended. I wore them to work and convinced a coworker to order them as well. She was impressed with the style.
The heel and bottom sole are quiet, so you don’t make clomping or clacking sounds.
The arch support isn’t fantastic, but I have a difficult time finding support for my sky high arch. It is sufficient for me, so I’m happy. I believe these will be great walking boots as I continue to wear them in.
Lastly, this is my second order with Zappos and I couldn’t be happier with the service and variety of products they offer!

I love that this boot has laces up the back which enable me to tighten the boots to fit snugly around my calves. I dislike boots that are not snug to the calf and as I have one calf bigger than the other this style is perfect! Nice padding in the sole and thick outer sole to absorb shock when walking. I have bunions and narrow heels and these were a bit snug over the bunion at first but stretched nicely. 4 stars for style only because I am not a fan of pebbled leather but all-in-all a big fan of these boots.

First let me say that these are beautiful boots and well made. They are a great deal on sale. They are a rich wine/ brown with rubber outsole to absorb shock as you walk. Nice. Now, the cons: 1.) I have wide feet and these are snug. I wear an 8 shoe and prefer a wide width, so I ordered an 8.5 M. Wide was not available. My hope is that they will loosen up and be more comfortable as they break in. You can see my bunion on my right foot poking out a bit. If they came in a wide wide, they would be much more comfortable for me, but I like them enough to try and make them work for me. 2.) when I took these out of the box, I could not zip them all the way up. I was sad that they were not going to work. Then I unlaced them halfway, zipped them up and redid the lacing. Success! If you are dying to try them, go for it. I am glad I did.

These were just delivered and after I got them fitted, I felt compelled to leave a review. First,I love them. They’re super cute. I was afraid the lace ups wouldn’t be my style. I like a traditional down riding boot. But they look classy.
Second, my calf is easy a 16.5-17 incher. The adjustable laces made these perfect. I ended up loosening them all the way. But they still look good! And there’s no cheap elastic band!
Third, all leather upper! The quality is so much better than many boots.
They are a little narrow so thick socks or inserts may be a challenge. I just got them on so comfort-wise, I don’t know about them. I’m hopeful but I think a thin insert may be needed. That’s my only criticism so far though.

The Boots are nice very Versatile. I like the Adjustable laces in the Back . The Heel seem like they could Have Done a little better . I brought some Over the Ankle boots from Kork ease a month ago and they did a Awesome Job on their Wood heel . Sadly these shoes came fast & Damaged . Something I am Not use to from Zappos ! You will see in the Pictures Why I had to send them back .

I love this shoe, and sad to return it. I have some foot paralysis from a stroke, so unfortunately I had to return these. I do plan on ordering them a size up. The color is awesome.
