Hannah –
When I first tried these on, I was worried they were too tight in the toe box and were a little snug in the calf (even with adjusting the ties). However, I wore them around my house for a little while and they started molding to my shape a bit more. I wore them to work the next day and they were really comfortable! The footbed is really nice with good arch cushion, and the tiny amount of heel makes it look a little better, but not so high that you really feel it while wearing them. For over $200 I’m hoping these will last me a long time! I bought my usual size 8 in these and they fit great – don’t be too alarmed if they’re a bit snug at first!

I have been looking at these boots for some time, but I wished they were a bit taller to hide the tops under a shorter midi skirt/dress. My other reservation was they were less dressy than I was looking for. Since they were waterproof, I decided they would be a better boot to wear around the farm and for rainy winter days. I wish I would have gotten them sooner and I may go for another pair (two great boots for the price of one pair of Fryes!) They are stylish and very practical, and they will work beautifully with whatever I choose to wear. They are also super comfortable! I love how they are adjustable. I have one calf that swells due to a residual blood clot. Now I have two perfect fitting boots. I wear a size 10/41M 99% of the time (10 fit perfectly, even with socks) and my good calf measures 15.5″, other 16″. I had to loosen the ties on both, but not too much. I may have to let them out a little more if I wear jeans, but the boots can accommodate that. Height – the boots I received in a size 10 were 16″ tall not 15″ (works better for me). Color – Sienna a cooler mocha color than the warm rusty color on my screen – but also like that better.

These are the most beautiful and comfortable boots that I have ever worn. I am so happy to wear them, especially because I have hammertoes, and it’s almost impossible to find footwear that don’t hurt my feet. They are sleek, snug fitting on the calf, and are so well-made that they will last forever. Although the toe box is generously wide, the slightly pointed toe adds feminine appeal. The inner sole is soft and flexible; a haven for tender feet. Most amazing is that although I chose the soft suede, they are truly waterproof. I was caught in the rain, and the boots got slightly wet. They dried perfectly; just like new right out of the box! They look exactly as shown in the photo and can be worn with almost anything in your closet. If you are wondering whether or not to buy these boots, the answer is simple. Buy them! You will be so overjoyed when you try them on that you will not want to take them off.

These were for my teenage daughter who wears a 9 or 9.5 depending on the shoe. We got a 9.5 and they are perfect and comfy from the first wear. It was great to be able to loosen the ties in the back for a fit on her calves. They are stylish and comfortable and she loves them! We got the brown and they are just barely distressed. 10/10 would buy again.

I really like these boots. They’re not the MOST comfortable but I have foot issues anyway, so maybe not even the boot’s fault. The heel height is perfect and I really like how the toe is reminiscent of cowboy boots. These are a nice balance of masculine and feminine which is a huge plus for me!

I bought these boots knowing that I could return them if I didn’t like them as they were not a style I would usually purchase. However, I will be keeping them. They are comfortable from the get go and fit my small calf size perfectly – although they will also accommodate a wider calf size too. They look great with a skirt or jeans so they are very versatile. The boots have a slight cowgirl feel to them with the slanted and leather stacked heel. I purchased the coffee cyclone version and I can tell the leather will be easily maintained with a clear leather boot guard polish. I expect these boots will do me for many seasons to come. I really do love them.

I am 6’0″ ft and these boots fit my thinner calves. I like a little heel height but not more than 2″ generally. Really happy with both the fit, comfort and heel height. I normally wear 11 but sometimes need to size up as I am probably a true 11.5 in left foot. The 11 fit well in these with a thin sock. I like the shaft height too which feels like it hits where it should and a little higher than my usual boots. My other go to boots for my narrower calfs are La Canadian. These Sofft boots come up a little higher, which I love. Super comfortable and the sole is quieter when I walk too. So happy, I ordered these in second color. Looks great with dresses, lots of compliments.

I’ve already written a 5-star review about these boots in the color “whiskey.” But I’ve decided to take the plunge and order these in “black” as well.
I’ve already purchased two pair of black boots made by other brands. But the others hurt my tender feet. Oww!
So I’m back to spending another $209. for these “boots from heaven” in black. I know, I know. I’ve wasted money on the other less costly ones and regretted it while wearing them.
There’s a saying that we should all remember:
“Cheap is expensive!”
These are the most comfortable boots I have EVER worn! And I’ve received too many compliments on these boots to count. So, ladies, remember that when you’re comfortable, you are beautiful!
Unless you have wide calves, don’t hesitate to buy these. They treat your feet like royalty and look amazing while doing so.
Your search for boots ends here. Congratulations!

I ordered the black and the light tan color. I love them both! I wear a size 8 normally — and these fit true to size. They are pretty comfortable, although I haven’t worn them for long periods of time just yet. I have skinny legs and can NEVER find tall boots that fit my calves. They are always so big around my legs and look dumb. I don’t have that problem with these at all! They fit my calves perfectly!! They were definitely more money than I normally spend but totally worth the money for finally finding boots that fit my skinny legs and the waterproof is a plus too!! Oh and they look great as well! I plan on having these for years!

Oh darn! These boots are awesome but I am unable to zip them up over my muscular calves. The laces in the back are just decorative you cannot actually adjust the width of the calves. They felt extremely comfortable walking around the house, but alas they must go back.
Maggie –
Really cute boot; snug and sexy on skinny calves (5’5″, 125#) and the laces make them variously adjustable (Smaller on the ankles? Looser in the calf? all possible!) The toe boxes were a bit tight with thick socks but I believe they will stretch; the heel is a little loose but I am willing to put some kind of pad in there. The finish on the ‘Whisky’ leather, however, is so delicate that it is getting scratched up just trying them on in the living room. Everything that touches them leaves a scratch, and at this rate, in no time they’ll look too funky boho to wear with my dresses. I’m going to exchange them for a different material which will hopefully be more sturdy. Thank you!

These boots are beautiful! I would not say they are wide calf though. I have very athletic and muscular calves and thankfully am able to wear them with the strings maxed out, but they are really tight on my legs.
Az –
love the leather. love the laces… but it looked silly on me because I had to let out the laces too much. if they came in a wide calf i would probably kept them.
CK –
These are great and comfortable boots, but the “light brown” is more greige in person. Just not the color I was looking for.

These boots are so beautiful and well made. I read a couple of reviews that said the laces can’t be adjusted but I am happy to say that you definitely can adjust. Out of the box they were really tight on my calves but after adjustment they were perfect. They are also very comfortable

The boot: Fantastic! I have a small foot (size 6) and a muscular calf from being a former figure skater. My left foot is also a half size smaller than my right but these boots fit me beautifully . I wish I could mix and match sizes but that is a pipe dream. This is the first knee-high boot that I have ever been able to wear. I generally have to stick to ankle boots, which I detest. The laces on this boot are what allowed me to take a chance because it gives me the ability to customize the fit. I’m still working on getting it exactly perfect, but I have no doubt after a bit more tweaking this boot will be the best thing I have ever purchased for my feet. The leather is soft enough to be able to wear comfortably out of the box but has enough heft to be a boot I will wear for years. I would recommend this boot 100%.
The shipping: so below what I would expect from Zappos that I am shocked and appalled. I would expect a $250 boot purchase to be shipped in an actual box. My boots were shipped in a bag. Which means the boot box itself was crushed beyond recognition. When I first opened the package I expected to find damage to the boot. Which I honestly couldn’t tell you if the scratches and scuffs on the boot are from the shipping or from the obvious previous owner. The left boot arrived unzipped, and without all of its supports. There are additional scuffs on the left that are not present on the right so determining if it is rough handling from the person who previously purchased and returned these boots or the shipping is impossible to say. If it wasn’t such a pain to exchange them, I would be doing so. Zappos, please treat your shipments better in the future. No purchase should ever be shipped in a bag. Poor service.

Love these not only because they fit my chicken legs (12” calf) but they’re also comfy. Look great with everything! Purchase in 3 different colors. Only reason not giving it 5 star is because the laces come undone to easily. They need to be suede.

Super cute style and slightly narrowed toe box. Comfortable enough but not as comfortable as the Born boots. Can only keep one so these are going back.

I have two pair of these boots, and I love the lacing up the back, even more than I love them being waterproof. I have HUGE calves, which is always a problem with any boot approaching knee-high, but I found the tongue on the back still allows full coverage if I loosen the laces enough to fit me. These boots are distinctive and always draw comments and compliments, if that’s a thing you care about. Regarding comfort: they feel fine when I put them on, and I don’t exactly notice that they are uncomfortable while I’m wearing them, but my feet are usually sore and I get a bit of fatigue in feet and legs at the end of a few hours wearing them. It’s possible they will become more comfortable as they break in further, and it’s not noticeable enough for me to think I made a poor choice. They’re good boots, and I would probably even buy a third pair. 🙂

Hazelwood is a soft honey mustard color in suede. Back laces are functional to adjust calf width.

Beautiful looking and comfortable. Fit right out of the box. I was easily able to adjust the laces. The leather strip behind the laces is wide enough to accommodate larger calves and well as regular and slim. These boots are distressed which is very attractive. I took a tiny dab of canned brown shoe polish to touch up the boots a little bit in a couple spots, very easy. The leather is not thick and the boots are not heavy, they are not loud on wood floors.

These are great boots. Although I have not done any significant touring in them (yet), I find them comfortable. The heel is a good height (not flat but not so high that it is an issue when I walk). They don’t squeak or jingle (which I find with so many boots). NOTE: I find the picture color to be a bit off. Someone else commented on this. These are a softer leather and lighter color than the picture would suggest. But still really like them. I do not have big calves and these hug them (which I wanted). I don’t know that adjusting the laces would actually help much if they didn’t fit.

Love these boots. Not only are they cool they really are waterproof!

I’m so happy with these! I never thought I had “wide” calves but boot shopping has shown me otherwise. These are the only boots I could find that accommodate my non-athletic 15.5” calves in a style I actually like. My preferred size is 7.5 wide but when that’s not available I get an 8 regular. The 8s fit perfectly and don’t pinch (I have wide feet too). The laces are a little fiddly but once you get them adjusted you shouldn’t have to mess with them again. I do wish the laces were a bit longer because I can barely knot them with how much room I had to let out. That’s my only complaint. The leather seems high quality and they’re really comfy and seem like they will break in well. The dark brown leather is a really nice color that I think will go with pretty much anything. They look cute with skirts or leggings. I included a picture of the laces loosened compared to how they come (laced tightly). It still looks nice on when the laces are let out.
