This boot is a bit taller than I expected and the back zip is great. The only issue I have is that the body of the boot seems to twist when fully zipped, not sure if that is just me with an athletic calf or the boot, undecided if I will keep them for that reason. Otherwise it is a very nice, simple black boot.

These boots are AMAZING….exactly what I was looking for and in the typical quality of the Sofft brand. I am replacing a pair of Sofft black leather boots that I have had for literally 5 years and have finally worn out. The leather on these new boots is smooth with a butter feel, yet sturdy. Simply beautiful… subtle yet striking style. I am a standard size 7 in any shoe and these are true to size…..my foot does tend to be wide, but the 7 offers ample room. I do have fairly skinny calves, and these are snug, so if you typically need a wide calf, I don’t think these would work well. I can’t wait to wear these…. totally worth The investment,

Loved the color and style of these boots and, while the foot bed, sole, and toe areas fit well, the circumference of the shaft was too wide for my calves, which are on the skinnier side.

Ordered 6 pair of tan/brown knee-hi boots in my quest for stylish, comfy boots w/ low heels, anti-slip soles – & these r the winners! Thx to Zappos for their super-easy return policy!!! I’m just a regular customer, 1 who thought buying footwear online was ridiculous but Zappos has rrreallllyyyy earned my loyalty. Back to these boots: wanted some to wear w/ my jeans tucked-in, ALL DAY comfort, fuss free (not have to keep pulling them up!), water-resistent…that would work for my college classes, casual dinners, long road trips, football games, even easy trail walking. Only thing I disliked was darker finish at front-edge of boots, apparently done to reduce look of stains/wear/scuffs. Tho very apparent in photos & when hold them, once on r barely noticeable.

I should have believed other reviewers but guess I had to see for myself…it’s true, the calves are VERY wide on the regular width. If you need lots of room, this could be for you. I am 5’10”, 145lbs, with average sized calves.

Very, Very comfortable boot, lots of room in shaft I have thin leg. But quality of leather a bit too stiff,felt cheap. But very comfortable, sole has a nice grip as well. Wish I could like these boots enough to keep just didn’t like the feel of the leather.

I have been looking for a true cognac-colored, nice fitting boot for YEARS. Literally every fall season I shop and am on the lookout and cannot find boots in this color that fit nicely. Nothing in stores. When I order online and they arrive, they are either tan or brown in real life. These are a beautiful warm, rich whisky-cognac color with classic styling and fit. Construction is solid, I expect these will last several years. Comfortable out of the box. Really are true to size, even accounting for thick socks. Finally! Love.

I always like Sofft shoes, so I tried a boot. This looks great and the toe box is slightly more round and a hair wider than my traditional choices in Frye.

Beautiful leather- its buttery and soft. wonderfully made. But I really need more arch support, I think. The soles are also squishy, rather than firm, and the ankles offer no support. Another issue is the calf is too wide for me, so there is a lot of excess material that looks a bit bulky. Would be good if tall boots were offered in regular, narrow and wide calf sizes, as true equestrian boots are.

I love these. Exactly what I was looking for. Flat, casual, yet can be dressed up, camel/cognac boots. Yes the calf is a little big but I wouldn’t say huge. I have normal size legs, calves and they’re a smidge bigger than I’d like but overall I love the look and color so I’m keeping. One boot had a darker toe than the other so I had to return and order another pair. The zipper on the back is stylish and they don’t bunch. Comfy so far too.

If you have tree trunk legs and cankles these are the perfect boots for you. The way these fit me I could stuff a pair of ski pants in them and I would still have room around my calves and ankle. They are super beautiful and very well-made but way too big for me.

Love the boot but there was too much space in the top opening area of the boot. If Sofft made this style where the shaft had stretchy material to adjust to each person’s calf, this would be the perfect boot. Unfortunately have to return because even though I would say I have thicker calves, it still left a big gap in the opening area.

My feet hurt A LOT. It’s hard for me to find a boot I can wear even couple hours, much less ALL DAY! This boot is adorable, comfy, and now I’m going to get my daughters both a pair. Not sure how they do in rain yet but I will spray scotch guard on them. In fact they so comfy even while I’m sitting around house I didn’t take them off ? if you’re on fence- get em! The calves are loose but not too big ( hate when boot calves are super loose and floppy)

I’m loving these boots. They offer a roomy toe box without compromising on style. I was concerned that the zipper at the heel would be uncomfortable but I forget it’s there until I take them off at the end of the day. I can walk in the city wearing these without issues and they are warm without making my feet too hot. The leather looks and feels nice. I have hard-to-fit feet and I’m delighted to have found tall boots that work for me and look fab!

Love love love these beautiful boots!! I rarely write reviews but these were such a great purchase, I just had to share! They are super comfortable for long walks all around the city, the soles are flexible rubber and the inner soles have soft, shaped support for the arch and ball of the foot—something I have never found in another boot. I sometimes have trouble fitting my strong calves into knee high boots, but these fit perfectly. Highly recommend!!

I really love these boots, but the calf width is rather wide causing boots flare out at the top making them a bad choice for knee length skirts. I’ve never had trouble, in past years, finding boots that fit snuggly against my calves until the introduction of wide calf boots.

These boots are beautiful, but since I am 5’4″, the top of the boot hit right below my kneecap, which over time might have been bothersome. I found a different boot that has a 14.5″ tall shaft which is better for my height. I highly recommend these boots for someone even just a little taller than I am though. They were very comfortable and fit true to my size 9 foot. Also, I have a 16″ circumference calf and these fit – even over my skinny jeans. I know how hard it is to find tall boots to fit over moderately athletic calves.

I’m 5’2” so the shaft is a bit too tall for me. Tried returning, but just couldn’t part with the boots because they are DEVINE. Quality, supple leather, super comfortable, sophisticated simple, riding boot design. Love the back zipper to avoid knee/inner calf rubbing. Even though they are a bit too tall for me, I’m going to keep them because everything else compensates and I can’t bring myself to give them up. I LOVE these boots.

Good looking boot with enough support to walk around all day. These boots are great! I have a hard time finding tall boots that fit my calves, and I have no problem getting in and out of these.

Overall, this boot fit like a dream! Well-cushioned foot bed with great arch support; comparable in comfort to other Sofft shoes I own. The shaft was a tad wide, but not as gaping as other boots I have tried. Unfortunately, the shaft was so tall that the top of the boot hit my legs and had to compress when bending my knees / sitting down (I’m 5’3″); I thought would be annoying in the long-run, so I decided to return them.
